Sony Pictures has 3D Blu-ray titles in store for 2010

In what is sure to be just the beginning of announcements from studios getting behind 3D Blu-ray, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that when Sony Bravia 3D HDTVs and Blu-ray Players hit the street this Summer that at least one movie from said studio will be available in the new format. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is the first 3D title on the list, but details and other titles are promised this Spring.

XpanD announces "world's first" Bluetooth 3D glasses, will bundle them with VIZIO XVT Pro

You know what's been missing from our craniums lately? A little bit of the old Bluetooth-enabled headset stuff. Never mind the fact 3D glasses don't really need Bluetooth -- after all, it's pretty hard to find a scenario where you'd utilize 3D glasses while breaking line of sight with the source device. Then again if we only ever designed and bought stuff we needed, things like CES wouldn't exist. To be bundled with VIZIO's new 3D LCD TVs, XpanD's active-shutter glasses feature "the highest-speed LCD lenses, lowest crosstalk and the highest viewing angle" and strategic partnerships (read: bundle deals) with other major manufacturers are being developed as we speak... type, whatever.

Eyes-on with DirecTV 3D

Panasonic invited us to a sneak peak of 3D at its booth tonight and representatives from DirecTV were there showing off its new 1080p 3D HD demo feed. The quality was pretty good and quite enjoyable. There were no noticeable compression artifacts in the demo loop which included soccer, College Football, Avatar, Toy Story 3, and a few documentaries with awesome architecture and breathtaking views of mountains and ocean wildlife.

The world’s first 3D Blu-ray was announced at CES 2010, with the accolade going to Monsters Vs Aliens.

The 3D Blu-ray was unveiled in Samsung’s packed press conference, where the company revealed it has partnered up with DreamWorks (who created Monsters Vs Aliens) and Technicolor to bring 3D content to the masses.

ESPN 3D launches in June with World Cup soccer -- our football to follow later

Need any more proof this is the year of 3D? USA Today is reporting ESPN 3D will start broadcasting this summer with a World Cup soccer match, with additional content coming from the Summer X Games (we won't have to wait for the flick to hit theaters this time) NBA games, and college basketball & football. DirecTV still hasn't confirmed its rumored plans for 3D, but CableLabs CEO Paul Liao is quoted calling the level of engagement 3D sports presents viewers as "unprecedented." More details on exactly how 3D in the home will happen are sure to come throughout the week -- we've already been blown away by 3D sports, it looks like everyone else will have their chance in just a few months.

The highest quality 3D you'll see in the cinema today is in an IMAX 3D cinema or a REAL D cinema - there are theaters all around the world. But the 1950's and the 1980's were also very big years for 3D movie production.
The list includes those 3D movies (or shorts) that have been screened theatrically - or at least to a reasonably large audience. A thumbnail of the poster or an image from the movie is included where available. The list only includes those 3D movies that were shot on film or at HDTV resolution or above. The list is big - you might be surprised. This list also identifies those 3D movies that are available on DVD or VHS in 2D or 3D.

Εγώ γιατί τα έβλεπα ανάποδα; Ειδικά σε κλειστούς χώρους αυτός που ήταν μπροστά μου είχα την εντύπωση οτι αν άπλωνα το χέρι θα τον ακούμπαγα.

Εκτός από κάτι άσπρες νιφάδες που προσγειώνονταν σχεδόν στο κεφάλι σου, τα υπόλοιπα τα είδα με βάθος. Λες να φόραγα ανάποδα τα γυαλιά???

Παιδιά εποχή της παγκοσμιοποίσης λέγεται κι όχι τυχαία. Όποιος θέλει 3d τηλεοπτικά κανάλια μπορεί να κοτσάρει ένα πιάτο στη ταράτσα του και να κάνει συνδρομή στο sky digital ή στο canal + (ξεκινάνε απο Ιούνιου τα 3d κανάλια τους) αντί για την ακατανόμαστη. Όποιος θέλει blu ray 3d μπορεί να πάρει απο το amazon (όταν κυκλοφορήσουν)...
