Video output is distorted, black/white, or blank with no signal on the Slim-HD
Quick Answer:
The Micca Slim-HD is likely not set to the correct output mode. To change the output modes using the Micca Slim-HD remote, press the [AV] button if the analog composite AV connection is used, or the [HDMI] button if the HDMI connection is used. Wait 3-4 seconds to give your TV time to adjust. For optimal HDMI settings, go into the Settings menu and adjust the display output mode to match your TV's resolution.
Detailed Answer:
If there is no image on the TV/HDTV or if the image is distorted or in black and white, perform the following checks in the order given:
Double check all AV connections to make sure that the cables are securely connected
Make sure that the TV is set to the correct input and input mode
Make sure that the media player is on so that the Power indicator is illuminated. If not, press the Power button on the front of the player to turn the player on.
Press the [AV] button on the remote control if the composite AV connection is used.
Press the [HDMI] button on the remote control if the HDMI connection is used.
The above steps will set the media player's display output mode back to the default of NTSC for AV connection or 480p for HDMI connection.
Once an image is visible on the TV/HDTV, go into the Settings menu and set the Display output mode for optimal results:
For Composite/CVBS Connection – Set the Display output mode to NTSC
For HDMI Connection – Set the Display output mode to the maximum resolution supported by the HDTV. For example, if the HDTV supports to 1080p(60fps), set the Display output mode to 1080p(60fps). If the HDTV supports up to 720p(60fps), set the Display output mode to 720p(60fps). Consult the HDTV’s user’s manual for the maximum input resolution it supports.
During playback of a movie, press the [16:9/4:3] button on the remote to change the playback aspect ratio. Select one that best fits your TV.
The Display output mode only needs to be set once. It only needs to be changed if the media player is used with a different TV/HDTV.
