Emphasis on new mini-LED LCD tvs.

At the launch of the new devices, we convinced ourselves that from the revolutionary TriChroma Laser 4K projector technology, through the latest Mini-LED technology with "QLED" LCD, OLED and ultra-high resolution.
New Hisense line of tvs will communicate with the tv through the VIDAA operating system .
Patrik Primorac, regional head of the tv product line, presented the technological improvements that distinguish the new series. '' This year the main focus is on Mini-Led LCD technology and we have enriched our portfolio with 4 series of products from this family, namely the U6, U7, U8 and this year's flagship of the UX model, which comes to the Croatian market at the end of August.

This year's Hisense tv range in our region includes five series:

1. Smart TV LCD
2. Ultra HD LCD
3. QLED 4K LCD
4. WRGB WOLED and
5. Mini-LED ULED LCD

All new models will have the letter K in their designation, unlike last year's models that have the letter H (e.g. U7HQ).

The Mini-LED "ULED" LCD category comes in four series: the leading is the UXQ series (65 and 85 inches), followed by the U8KQ (55, 65 And 75 inches), the U7KQ (55, 65, 75, 85 and 100 inches) and the U6KQ (55 and 65 inches).

The 2023 WRGB WOLED series comes with the A85K, available in two sizes, 55 and 65 inches,100/120Hz με MCFI.

VIDAA operating system in two versions depending on the tv series:
This year, the current version of VIDAA is the U7 version, but it will be available on models from the E7 Pro upwards.
The E7 and lower series will come with last year's version of the U6.
The new version brings new options such as displaying the main menu when ignition, a customizable screensaver in which the user can place photos as desired, an improved VIDAA free service with free video content, a new VIDAA mobile application and additional voice control options.
Some TV models will also have a microphone built into the TV itself for control without the use of a remote control.

The 55" and 65" are VA LCDs with a typical luminance of 500 nits and a peak of 1,500 nits, while the 75" is an ADS with 650 nits of typical luminance and a peak of 1,300 nits.

Hisense 65U8KQ first Look and unboxing

Η Hisense U8KQ ανήκει στην τεχνολογία ULED, κάτι που σημαίνει πάνελ LCD με Quantum Dot με ικανότητα να μπορεί να καλύψει σχεδόν πλήρως τον χρωματικό χώρο DCI-P3. Το πάνελ είναι LCD με οπίσθιο φωτισμό Mini LED και τοπικό έλεγχο του φωτός.

Τα μοντέλα 55U8KQ και 65U8KQ χρησιμοποιούν πάνελ LCD VA, ενώ η 75 ιντσών φοράει πάνελ LCD ADS, δηλαδή μια παραλλαγή του IPS.
Ο κατασκευαστής αναφέρει 1.056 ζώνες ελέγχου ως γενικό αριθμό, αλλά αυτές σίγουρα διαφέρουν ανάλογα το ιντσάζ της οθόνης.
Μάθαμε όμως ότι η 65U8KQ έχει 1.008 ζώνες, ένας μεγάλος αριθμός σε σχέση με τον ανταγωνισμό.

Η σάρωση είναι 120Hz με δυνατότητα να φτάσει τα 144Hz εάν της συνδέσουμε υπολογιστή με gaming κάρτα γραφικών τέτοιου επιπέδου, 120Hz native και 144Hz VRR.
Ο χρόνος καθυστέρησης είναι 6ms.

Για τους gamers για πρώτη φορά φέτος η Hisense κατεβάζει στις τηλεοράσεις της gaming μενού με την ονομασία Game Bar για ρυθμίσεις ώστε να αυξήσουμε τις επιδόσεις μας.

MediaTek MT9618 SoC with the OS provided by VIDAA U7.0

Measured 585 nits on an industry-standard 10% window and 523 nits fullscreen in the most accurate Filmmaker Mode.
These are good results, but it is not all good news as the local dimming algorithm needs to suppress blooming and you can see that the peak brightness for small areas of the image (1, 2 and 5%) are much lower than the 10% results, meaning that the image is missing dynamic range and contrast.
The 25% window is the brightest of them all and this also points to issues with over brightening of the HDR image that introduces other issues with clipping.

Our Hisense U8K review sample is the 65-inch version, model number Hisense 65U8KQTUK, but our findings should also apply to the 55-inch 55U8KQTUK which uses a VA-type LCD panel.

No matter how sophisticated the equipment and calibration software you use, verification of picture quality is a must.
This is done by looking at the actual content, not only test patterns.
I prefer to check skin tones which we all know how they should look.
In this example I've calibrated a Hisense 2023 LED LCD TV, model E7KQ Pro with 144 Hz VA panel.
Many picture controls didn't work correctly and even by going to the limits of the range for a particular control, not only could I not reach the targets, but the picture got significant banding which is clearly visible on the skin tones.

Πολλά ρυθμιστικά εικόνας δεν λειτούργησαν σωστά και ακόμη και με το να πάω στα όρια του εύρους για ένα συγκεκριμένο ρυθμιστικό, όχι μόνο δεν μπόρεσα να φτάσω τους στόχους, αλλά η εικόνα απέκτησε σημαντικό banding που είναι σαφώς ορατό στους τόνους του δέρματος.
