Hitachi introduces affordable 1080i resolution plasma range

Hitachi is releasing a two new, affordable, 1080-resolution plasma screens this Spring. First out is the P50T01, which is expected to sell for around £1500. Hitachi says the 1080 screen uses the latest generation of Picture Master Technology with a full HD processor to give truer colours, better textures and glossier surfaces for 'a more realistic viewing experience.'
The newly developed 'full HD' version of Hitachi's Picture Master image processor is the culmination of years of development, and employs a 16 bit colour recognition engine with 3D colour management for better skin-tones and textures.
Hitachi says "With an HD resolution of 1280 x 1080 the 50inch P50T01 delivers a superior image even at close quarters. At a normal viewing position of only 1.8 meters it gives exactly the same viewing ratio as at a cinema - so the viewer gets the 'big' experience even in relatively small spaces."
Connectivity as well as good looks is crucial in today's increasingly digital households. With two HDMI and three SCARTs the T-Series offers versatile options for use with most digital output devices including digiboxes, games consoles, HDD players/recorders and camcorders.
Joining the big-screen model is a 42in Plasma, P42T01, and a 32in LCD TV (L32T01). This LCD TV features Hitachi's In Plane Switching technology (IPS) for better contrast, richer colour and wider viewing angles. It utilizes the same full HD processor as the 42in and 50in plasma models.
